GOOD NEWS FROM SOUTH JORDAN

Dustin is finally hooked!  After a year of dating Dustin won the hand of Sarai from state of WA when he presented a large solitaire diamond ring and announced their upcoming wedding at a party held at his home in South Jordan.  Everyone is soooo excited to finally have him leave the nest at 29.5 years old.  She is adorable, has her B.S. degree and a great job in SLC.  They are planning an Oct wedding and I'm very happy for them both.
His good friends Ryan and Rachael are currently on a week's cruise in the Caribbean (their rent must be too low).  They were finally able to take that weekend hike in WY several weeks ago when the weather was much better.  They celebrated their 2 year anniversary last weekend and Ryan got her permission to cut his hair (it was her idea for him to grow it).  Jake moved out last week so I'm by myself this week.

I spent the weekend with Lance and family, had lunch with dear missionary friends, Sally and Barbara, who live not too far from Lance.  Intervieed Lance three separate times about his experiences with mom and dad after I moved out to get married.  Got some great new info I'd never known about and was reminded of others. Then Chris and Michelle and three cute kids came to visit and she helped me with my blogging skills since I usually have more to write than photos to send.
Before I left I gave Lance and Becky a Christmas in August gift - a much needed large crock that I found at Smith and Edwards in north Ogden.  They were delighted as he's getting ready to make his next batch for Thanksgiving.  Returned home Sunday night before dark.

BLOGGER CLASS 101

Pictures from the past

I'm currently getting a much needed lesson from sweet Michelle Hansen to help me with my blogging skills and at the same time not giving me loads of stress while doing it.

You may recognize (or not) my Hansen cousins at our last
reunion in July of 2010.  Great looking bunch, aye????

Now, here is the Lance Hansen tour group is having breakfast in Germany at our darling, albeit very difficult to find, bed and breakfast.  They tried out some delicious German cuisine and I was happy with yogurt, roll and juice.

Okay, so far so good.  This is great to have Michelle sitting right here helping me put out the blog the way I'd like it for interesting effect.  Now, I'll post and see how it looks.

Gloria's On The Edge

I met with doctor Francis a few days ago and he gave me a fairly good exam for dehydration.  My eyes have tears, have plenty of saliva, heart not racing, skin not unusual for a 73 year old, urine not too yellow etc.  He took BP and heart rate lying down, sitting up and standing up and #'s were all different as they usually are.  He said I was borderline dehydrated and he would order an IV for me to try out.  We talked about adding nutrients and he said that was not a good idea as he works with lots of experienced adults who get infections easily with this added commodity.  When I left to do several errands, my inside door handle broke and I had to crawl over and get out of the passenger door.  Since I was there on 14th north I drove on out to Chrysler for a repair.  Part had to be ordered from SLC of course.  I returned the next day and the mechanics found it wasn't the handle but the cable had broken which had to be ordered from Denver.  What a pain that has been to not be able to get out when I wanted.  But then I remembered all the people who wouldn't be able to crawl over the seat so it's a good thing I'm thin.

I had the liter bolus yesterday morning which was nice just sitting relaxing and reading.  Nurse took my BP and heart rate afterwards and all three position #'s were different and I couldn't tell if it made much difference then, other than going to the bathroom more than usual.  But today I've felt pretty good all day taking the car in to be repaired, yea!, and have been in and out of the 94 degree heat and at no time did I feel faint.  My blood work from last week looks good, especially my kidney function which was down 15%  a few years ago is much improved.

I have my mamo and dxa (bones) scans scheduled in two weeks so then I'll know how I'm doing in those areas.

DRESSES FOR AFRICA COMPLETED

The dresses are done!!
I'll deliver 58 of them this afternoon.
Hope all those little African girls love them.  Now I'll get back to finishing quilts I've started.
