Hannah Graduates

We were  so excited to have Grandma come to see her first grandchild graduate from High School. She was so proud and it meant so much to Hannah to have her here.

Here is Hannah receiving her Diploma and her CSF (California Honors) Diploma from her principal Mr. Baum.
This is Hannah with her three best friends.  The yellow sash represent the students who graduate with honors.  Her class rank was 11 out of 436 students.  Grandma was so proud that Hannah was in the group of honor students who were given their diplomas first.

After the ceremony, the graduates were bused to San Francisco to board an all night casino harbor cruise.  What fun they had!

In the fall, she will be attending the University of the Pacific as a new UOP Tiger.

MODESTO UPDATE

I hurried to sew and get this picnic quilt finished for Ryan's graduation gift while they were on their fun cruise to the Bahamas last week.  I'm pretty sure they both will be thrilled.

A week ago Brent and two great young men helped to till my garden area and added black gold amendments to it.  Hopefully. I'll have better luck with my yield this year.  They are soooooooo good to help me.

Holly hosted fifteen of her ladies from church for their annual retreat (this year in my downstairs bed and breakfast).  All loved the house and the great time they had together while Ryan and Rachel were playing with Asher in the sand.

Holly sent this photo to me of  my stunning new view outback.  Somehow this Geodesic dome"fell" into my backyard view while I was in Green Valley and none of my neighbors or I like it one little bit.  An 85 year old couple are responsible and we're going to have to have a welcome to the neighborhood party and ask them "what in the heck were you thinking?"

This is how it had changed last week and I'm certainly hoping that my the time I return to Providence they will also have planted several huge popular trees around it.  Ha!~

Darling Hannah and her very proud parents before we attended her graduation ceremonies  at the football stadium.  We went quite early to get good seats in the shade, but the heat and full stomach made me lightheaded and woosie.  I put my head between my legs and good son Brady doused me with cool water so that I didn't faint and cause a disruption of Hannah's special night.  Good going and Congrats to a great young lady.

Thanks to Brady for helping me BEE smarter with my computer as I've been having numerous problems lately that I haven't been able to get help I need. Yea!  Hope I can remember it now...........

B.S  Cousin Bethany had a 7.6# baby girl just after midnight last night.  We're all hoping they'll name her Juicy Berger!!

PROVIDENCE UPDATE

Took time out of my hectic schedule yesterday to attended a fun duel baby shower for two darling expectant mom's.  Nieces Sarai and Bethany are due in about a month when Hans Hansen and Bambi Berger will arrive to happy parents and grandparents Lance and Becky.

Here's sweet Haedyn in his newest piece of protective armor - a knee stabilizer to help slow the boy down.  He didn't want to be wrapped in bubble wrap to help keep him in better health.  He put up with all our trips to hospital and doctors offices amazingly well for a very active 9 year old.

Taegan and Haedyn helped me take my last box of quilts, blankets, dresses and hats to the last charitable organization on my list of three.
Then Taegan helped pack a few boxes for me which I appreciated.

I made an Easter Bonnet cake for  Sunday dinner and Taegan helped me decorate it.  Good job, gal!

Ffiona asked for a lesson on making Challa (Easter bread) so she and I did that after the cake was done.  She caught on very quickly and the loaves came out beautifully as you can see.  Delicious with Easter dinner.

Imagine, I am now attempting to get into new digital electronics at my age.  Holly and I went to Verizon with the i Phone she passed down to me and bought me this beautiful red cover for it along with other accessories.  Isn't she great!  But I'm not sure that I'm smart enough to use this "smart phone".  But at least I'm learning something new every day and when things slow down a little I'll take more time to become more proficient.

All I've done since I returned from AZ is take care of things that always await my return to Providence.  I've been to Logan every day going to doctor appts, car issues, buying strawberry plants, soil amendments,  having garage door repaired, ordering 24 more copies of Zella's history for those cousins who didn't get one at Christmas.  The sty in my eye is still with me and doc says if it's not resolved in another 10 days he'll have to lance it.  I'm still beary eyed with too many tears that make driving a challenge.  The dermotoligist says my constant morphing left pinky nail is from a fungus which I'm treating now.  He also froze a problem spot on my thigh and took a biopsy on red scab on my right arm.

Ryan has done a good amount or work around yard.  Felled that diseased apple tree on east side of hose; cut down hedge next to steps and is planning to reset them as they're getting scary to descend; trimmed Zella's wild roses and lilacs; put up a fence to secure another row of raspberries stems in north garden; removed dead bushes.

The new fruit tree pruners did a great job cutting way back on trees, but didn't clean up small branches as well as others have done.

I've managed to get on treadmill for a mile a day, but am working as fast as I can to get his graduation quilt done without them knowing it.    He's done with school, but will cont to work from home and decide where to apply to grad school before they move out last part  of May.
