HONORING OUR DEAR DEPARTED

Here's the floral arrangements on Elwood and Thelma's grave in foreground and  grandparents James and Elaine Hansen in background.
Then before an inch of rain fell I took a bouquet to Henry and Zella's grave in Paradise.  All were from starts that she grew around her house.

On the way past the church to visit with Uncle Del and Aunt Carol I took this photo of what remains of the old Paradise church which was razed just last week.  Everything inside was either sold or given to anyone who wanted or could use the things inside.  It was a poignant moment for many who had attended that church for many years.  The rubble left in photo should be removed soon and the new building will commence.

I planted a few colorful flowers in containers in front of house yesterday and then I drove to the cemetery again to take another photo of dad's grave with the American flag included.  I trimmed off the Virginia creeper to make it look nice, than walked around cemetery (haven't walked much since my return from AZ) and talked to some of you at the same time.  It was a beautiful day after three days of cold, rain and snow on little baldy.

I got three tomato plants in last week, the rest of the beets and spinach and will put three variety of squash in this afternoon.

Elitch Gardens

We went to Denver's theme park all day Saturday. As you can see on the first pic they look really excited. The next two pics are of a ride called the mind eraser, which does loop de loops and lets your feet dangle. And I'm cheap so instead of paying $20 pet photo, I just took a picture of their picture. :P
I dragged Katelyn thru an hour long line to get to the rapids ride, all the other peeps line wished they could lay down like her.
The pic of the yellow roller coaster, if u look close enough u can see Drew and Derek in the front of the fourth car. Derek looks very terrified.
We also made it to the water park for a few hours, but after 7 hours of fun we were all tired and hungry so we went to Cafe Rio. Later that night we went to downtown Denver to see Toad the Wet Sprocket and other bands in a charity concert for kids, fun! We got home about 1015.
They all crashed and are still asleep, except for Katelyn of course.

working like a mad woman

I finished 4 more dresses since Easter..... I made 2 for dancers in Texas, one for a girl in Tucson, the last one I started sewing Monday & shipped to Canada yesterday...... now I need sleep since it took about 40 hours to sew it.

I'm completely booked through September with 10 more dresses to do between now & then!

WOW!!!!

In other Dance news.....

The kids had a great competition this past weekend. They were all outstanding (in my book at least!)  Our dance school was hosting so I was very busy coordinating all the vendors, volunteering in other areas, helping as a seasoned dance mom and being a vendor & a dance mom. I think we are all still recovering!

It was a HUGE day for Ffiona- it was her first Championship competition!!!! Her teacher moved her up to championships 2 days before the Feis and called in a change to her registration. She has been working so hard & was sooo excited when he moved her up that she screamed & burst into tears!!!
Taryn had a great championship competition, placing 5th out of 10 dancers. She was shocked to place at all after a false start in one of her dances which could have disqualified her. One  Judge (of 3) even gave her 1st place overall. Out of 15 in the treble reel she placed 4th. Guess the judge really liked her ninja velocoraptor walk on :)

Taegan got 2 medals and a sunburn. Hyun was in charge of the Movie Theater the whole weekend - he had a name badge & everything! Haedyn quit about half way through competition- he wasn't feeling well, but he has a trooper & put his outfit & shoes back on to do the 3hand as promised. They ended up getting 1st place! :) Turn out he has Bronchitis - poor guy!
