DAMAGED AND DEAD

My sad looking trees.                                                                           Remember the beautiful Rose of China tree dad and I planted out front?  Unfortunately it is dead!    When I called my tree trimmers to stop by so we could decide what I needed to have done this fall with all my trees and bushes, Chad gave me the bad news.  It looked beautiful in May but some type of fungus took it down and I could cry.  So it will have to be removed.
Last Wednesday evening friends and neighbors came to get down and take home those beautiful white peaches that everyone raves about.  When I returned from Tucson two more branches had broken off making the total damage of four limbs lost.  Chad will do all he can to save what's left for next year, but we'll see.

So the only peach tree left with fruit is on the three year old start from the one dad cut down many years ago because the peaches came on so late that they froze before we even got to eat them.  Since all my fruit trees have produced about 3-4 weeks early this  year it will be nice to finally find out if they're any good.  Since it's a  young start (abt 6 feet high) there aren't more than a lug full.  Thank goodness!  I'm thankful for them but tired of canning them and jam thus giving a lot away.  Wish I could share with you other four families - Holly is getting her fill.
